I was outside a temple in Kashmir one time.
A family came out of the temple carrying some food they’d been given as a blessing. A group of child beggars immediately surrounded them, their arms outstretched. The family gave them the food.
The children hurled the blessed food down to the ground in disgust and rushed off towards someone else.
The family immediately confronted them pointing out their ingratitude. The children replied that they were always being given this food and wanted money.
A huge argument followed. The family were furious. The children were furious.
How often do we get angry and stressed out over how we believe others ought to be?
How do you decide when the anger is worth it? Or that it’s been worth it?
